The video summit will draw the participation of leaders of ASEAN member States and its partners namely China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
It is expected that the summit will approve a Joint Statement affirming strong commitment and determination of the aforesaid countries to protect their citizens from negative impacts of the pandemic.
The schedule of the summit was agreed by ASEAN foreign ministers during their 25th meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council on Thursday morning.
During the meeting, the regional FMs underlined the need to promote the cohesive and resilient spirit of the bloc in controlling and mitigating the negative impacts of the pandemic./.
