After informing the guests about major socio-economic achievements gained by Vietnam over the past 20 years of renovation, especially in 2005-06, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked Thai businesses to promote their investment in Vietnam, an investment destination with political stability, constantly high economic growth rate, and a 85-million population.

The Vietnamese Government and people will provide best conditions for Thai enterprises to successfully do business in Vietnam, emphasized the PM.

Over the past time, Thai businesses have invested in 145 projects with a total capital of US$ 1.6 billion. Thailand ranks 12 among 77 countries and territories with investments in Vietnam. This is not really corresponding to the two countries’ economic and commercial potentialities as well as the friendly neighborhood. The Government head asserted that the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand will benefit the two countries and contribute to ASEAN’s common prosperity.

Mr. Arsa Sarasin showed his admiration to Vietnam’s stable and high economic growth rate. He confirmed that Thai businesses will do greater investment in Vietnam. Immediately, some Thai cement companies will increase their investment capital in Vietnam to US$3 billion in 2007 and US$6 billion in the time to come./.
