Speaking at the event, the PM referred to shortcomings and obstacles the province is facing, including slow economic restructuring and administrative procedure reform, low rank in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) (ranking 62 among 63 localities) and high proportion of poor households.
Mr. Phuc asked them to focus on cultural and social development, especially free immigrant areas and ensure social order and safety at rural and mountainous areas.
He highlighted the establishment of a trade mark for agricultural products, development of the private sector and co-operative models and systemization of industrial parks and economic border zones.
Binh Phuoc Province is located on a crucial strategic location, connecting with the provinces in the Central Highlands with the Southeast, reaching the economic growth of 6.64%, said Chairman of Binh Phuoc Province’s People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tram.
In the first seven months of 2018, the province contributed VND4,900 billion to the State budget, a year-on-year increase of 70%, he added.
