27th AIMF General Assembly session in Huế
Việt Nam always observes its consistent policy to attach economic development goals to cultural development and environmental protection to ensure a sustainable development. Not only trying to become an industrial country by 2020, Việt Nam has also planned to build up an advanced culture imbued with national identities. Việt Nam highly appreciates the AIMF's efforts in boosting the cooperation between its member cities and assisting the French-speaking cities in developing countries, emphasized Deputy PM Khiêm.
AIMF President Bertrand Delanoe said that the Association's decision to choose Huế as the first Southeast Asian site for its General Assembly session reflects the AIMF's recognization of Việt Nam's position and contributions to enhance cooperation and development of the Francophionie community. Under the theme of “Cities, Heritages and Local Development”, the AIMF General Assembly session will work out solutions to convert heritages into the motive forces for urban development as well as clearly define local authorities's role in improving heritages' values.
