Regulations on earthquake and tsunami report issued

VGP – Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung has signed a decision on natural disaster forecasts, warning, and reports.

Quake information must be issued when an earthquake is 3.5 magnitude or above which would affect Viet Nam, is 6.5 magnitude at sea which would cause tsunamis affecting Viet Nam.

News on tsunami warnings would be released in three levels to recommend evacuation readiness and immediate evacuations.

News on tsunami warning cancellation must be issued when a tsunami would not occur as forecast. Final tsunami news must be released when a tsunami is completely terminated./.
