Seventeen localities vaccinate adolescents against COVID-19

VGP – Sixteen localities have so far administered over 1.4 million doses of Pfizer vaccine for teenagers aged 12-17, who account for 15.5% of the eligible population, according to the Ministry of Health.

These localities are Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, SocTrang, An Giang, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, and Hau Giang.

The rest of 46 localities are crafting plans to inoculate their young populations.

The ministry reported that as of mid-November 15, nearly 99.8 million doses of vaccines had been administered in Viet Nam.

It urged localities to speed up the vaccination rollout for over 18-year-old population, especially those over 50 years old, and administer the second dose for partially vaccinated adolescents.

The vaccination rollout has been carried out rapidly in September and October./.
