Social distancing imposed in Hoa Binh City from Monday

VGP – The People’s Committee of Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh Province decided to apply social distancing for the whole city with a population of more than 135,000 people from May 10 as the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved complicatedly in recent days.

Hoa Binh Province is one of 26 cities and provinces hit by the fourth wave of local infections, with five local infections confirmed by Monday noon.

Under the Decision, issued on May 9, all meetings or gatherings of more than 20 persons in a room (excluding meetings with voters) are banned.

People are requested to avoid gatherings of more than ten persons outside public places, schools, and hospitals, and to keep a distance of at least two meters from each other in public places.  

Earlier, social distancing has been applied in several localities to prevent spread of the virus. 

On May 6, Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Province People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang announced that social distancing would be applied from May 7 in three districts of Luong Tai, Thuan Thanh, and Tien Du as well as in Tu Son Town and Bac Ninh City. 

The Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee also implemented social distancing, starting from May 6 as the province reported five positive cases in Vu Thu, Thai Thuy and Kien Xuong Districts.

Chairman of the Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee Le Duy Thanh decided to lock down Vinh Yen City for 15 days from May 7 after the city recorded 11 community infection cases of COVID-19.

The People’s Committee of the northern province of Bac Ninh also applied social distancing throughout Thuan Thanh District, starting from 2:00 pm on May 9, in the face of complex developments of COVID-19 there over the past few days./.
