Special website dedicated to Hà Nội’s millennium
VGP – On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Hà Nội’s liberation (October 10, 1954) and the 999th birthday of the capital city, a special website entitled “Thăng Long–Hà Nội: A thousand year civilization” designed by the Việt Nam Government Web Portal (VGP) and the municipal People’s Committee was officially made public today.

The website
(http://thanglong.chinhphu.vn/ ) is
a component of the new version of the VGP which was kick-started by PM Nguyễn
Tấn Dũng on Saturday evening in Hà Nội.
It is a cooperation project
between the Office of Government and the Hà Nội People’s Committee to welcome
the capital city’s millennium scheduled on 2010.
The multimedia website consists
of audio news, video clips, music and photos about Hà Nội in the
past and the present.
There is also a special
column, “Thăng Long Imperial Citadel”, introducing articles and researches on
the royal citadel of Hà Nội.
Towards the millennium of
the capital city, each and every Hanoian is striving best to make contributions
to the development of Hà Nội and the country as well.
In this spirit, the website
“Thăng Long–Hà Nội: A thousand year
civilization” is an official resource of accurate information about the
socio-economic development of Hà Nội as well as activities to welcome the grand
celebration of the city.
