At the reception, President Nguyễn Minh Triết stressed that Vietnam is striving to further improve her investment environment, promote administrative reform, and standardize legal documents to attract more foreign businesses. He confirmed that Vietnamese competent agencies will drastically shorten the process to approve and license foreign-invested projects because Vietnam’s consistent policy is to encourage and create best conditions for foreign investors to do business in Vietnam. The organization of the 40th APCAC annual meeting in Vietnam is another good signal of Vietnam’s increased prestige to the international community.

President Landis W. Hicks and APCAC delegates highly appreciated achievements made by Vietnam in 2006. They were convinced that these are good preconditions for the country to reach a sustainable development in the coming years. Mr. Landis W. Hicks affirmed that APCAC wishes to further support Vietnam in the future, especially in fulfilling her commitments to WTO.

APCAC with 25 AmCham members in 19 countries and economies represents the interest of  more than 50,000 US businesses and over 10,000 US trading organizations in the Asia-Pacific region. APCAC members are now controlling a trade turnover of over US$ 400 billion and an FDI of nearly US$ 300 billion.
