State President visits Marine Police Department

The State President lauded the efforts of officials and soldiers of the force, especially those who are on duty to defend sea and island sovereignty, maintain law enforcement and conduct search and rescue work on the country’s territorial waters.

The President affirmed that officials and soldiers has upheld the fine traditions of the Việt Nam Marine Police Force to overcome difficulties and challenges and were ready to sacrifice their lives to fulfill their assigned tasks.

Mr. Sang suggested the Việt Nam Marine Police Force boost cooperation with other forces to protect the national sovereignty of territorial waters and its its jurisdictional rights for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region on the basis of respect for international laws.

According to State President Sang, the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee adopted the Resolution on Việt Nam’s Marine Strategy until 2020 to turn the nation into a strong nation in terms of sea exploitation.

To achieve the target, the State President proposed the marine police force consolidate in terms of politics and ideology, raise training quality, promote the image of sea and islands and expand friendly cooperation with other countries in the region and the world./.
