Temporary classrooms to vanish by 2012

VNGOP – The PM approved on February 2 the Plan to solidify schools, classrooms and teachers’ working offices up to 2012 with a view of eradicating three-shift and temporary classrooms of all kinds.

The plan covers nursery, primary and secondary educational levels.

It is expected that about VND 22,200 billion will be mobilized to build 140,100 new classrooms. A VND 200 billion fund will be used to eradicate three-shift classrooms.

The area of teachers’ working offices will reach 1.6 million m², with an investment capital of VND 2,800 billion.

The total investment capital for the plan is around VND 25,200 billion, including VND 16,200 billion from the central budget through issuing Governmental bonds. The remaining VND 2 trillion will be contributed by enterprises, international organizations and donors.
