Top legislator praises Russian oil and gas cooperation

VGP – In oil and gas field, Việt Nam-Russia cooperation is not only an international cooperative symbol, but an indication of fine and comprehensive relations between the two countries, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng.

Vietsovpetro, an oil and gas joint venture between Việt Nam and Russia, should ceaselessly enhance capacity of its staff, strengthen training, and intensify the application of science and technology to raise product quality, the Vietnamese top legislator said when having a working session with the joint venture on April 24.

He worked with the joint venture, part of the Việt Nam National Oil and Gas Group, when having a business trip to the southern province of Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu.

Vietsovpetro is the country’s biggest crude oil and gas producer with the initial capital of US $1.5 billion. Now, its annual revenue is up to US $48.6 billion.

At the working session, Russian Ambassador to Việt Nam Andrey G. Kovtun highly appreciated the traditional friendly and all-round cooperative relations between the two countries. He also praised Việt Nam’s proper policies and intelligent, creative and industrious Vietnamese engineers.
