Under the program, both sides will join efforts in tourist propagation, exchange information and experience, connect the Luang Prabang-Hà Nội route and adjacent areas, and boost tourist investment.

Luang Prabang also wants to connect to Việt Nam’s world heritage sites.

It will work with Hà Nội to launch tourist routes in Indochina.

Luang Prabang boasts its eco-tourist potential. The number of tourists between the province and Hà Nội is on the rise. With its good infrastructure, Luang Prabang is also a transit point for visitors to other areas.

Hà Nội is now home to 15 recreational centers, 3,000 historical sites and more than 1,200 handicraft villages. Every year, the city welcomes 9.2 million visitors, including 1.3 million foreigners. 2010 will be observed as the National Tourism Year to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Hà Nội.
