Twelve Vietnamese universities are named in the world’s top 3,000 in the University Ranking by Academic Performance by Turkish non-profit organization (URAP).

This year, URAP ranks 3,000 universities around the world, 500 more than the figure of 2019.

Among 12 Vietnamese educational institutions, Ton DucThang University in Ho Chi Minh City ranked first, followed by Duy Tan University and Ha Noi-based Viet Nam National University.

Other Viet Nam’s universities in the list include Ho Chi Minh City-based Viet Nam National University, Ha Noi Medical University, Ha Noi University of Science and Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Can Tho University, Hue University, Viet Nam National University of Agriculture, Ha Noi National University of Education and Ha Noi University of Mining and Geology.

It is worth noting that the gap between the 1st and the 12th university in Viet Nam is quite big, with Ton Duc Thang University and Ha Noi University of Mining and Geology standing 639th and 2662th respectively on the URAP rankings.

URAP uses data about all universities listed by Web of Science to make rankings.

The criteria of quantity, quality of scientific publications, citation index and scientific impacts account for the largest weight in the assessment process.
