Valid power generators announced

VGP – The Electric Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV) has announced 29 power enterprises to join the competitive power generation market with the total capacity of around 9.035 MW.

Of these power suppliers, 13 are hydro-electric, 11 thermal and 5 gas-turbine.

In addition, 26 other electric plants will indirectly join the market upon the selection of the National Load Dispatch Center.

ERAV also reported that 20 other power plants (19 hydro-electric and one thermal plants) with a designed capacity of 4.567MW are scheduled to join the market when they officially launch operations.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade had asked the Electricity of Vietnam to finalize preparatory steps for the operation of a competitive power generation market since July 1, 2012./.
