Viet Nam gets more vaccine gift from U.S

VGP – A batch of 397,800 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine donated by the U.S. Government arrived in Ha Noi on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Consulate in Viet Nam.

The latest doses brought the total vaccine donation from the U.S. to Viet Nam to nearly 8.5 million. 

The U.S. Consulate in Viet Nam reported that additional batches of U.S. gifted vaccine will be delivered to Viet Nam in coming days.  

Earlier, on October 7, 608,400 doses of Pfizer donated by the U.S. landed in Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCMC. 

On October 2, a batch of 1,499,940 million Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine doses was delivered to Viet Nam by the U.S. through global vaccine access mechanism Covax.

In addition to the vaccine donation, the U.S. committed more than US$26.7 million in Covid-19 related assistance to Viet Nam since the start of the pandemic. 

As of late September 7, almost 50 million vaccine doses have been administered in Viet Nam, with over 12 million people fully inoculated./.
