Vietnamese and Lao legislative bodies solidify relation

VNGOVNet – National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng expressed his confidence on March 8 that the visit to Vietnam by Ms. Pany Yathotu, Lao NA Deputy Chairman will help maintain and cement the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

In his reception to the delegation of the Laos National Assembly headed by Ms. Pany Yathotu, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng showed his pleasure to see the cooperation between the two legislative bodies evolve in an increasingly effective and practical way. He affirmed that Vietnam really wants to exchange and share her experience with international friends, especially Laos.

Laos NA Deputy Chairman Pany Yathotu informed the outcomes of her working sessions with the Vietnamese NA committees and other competent ministries and sectors, through which she learnt useful experience of law making; increased supervision of the legislative body over the implementation of socio-economic development plans; settlement of citizens’ petitions. The Lao guest highly appreciated the Vietnamese NA’s renovations to improve its performance and strengthen voters and people’s confidence.  

Ms. Pany Yathotu conveyed the compliments and invitation from Lao NA Chairman Thoongsin Thammavong to NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng to pay an official visit to Laos. The host gladly thanked and accepted the invitation.
