Vietnamese chicken officially admitted into Russian market |
Long said that one of the biggest efforts made by the animal health sector over recent times was to build and maintain disease-free animal husbandry areas and facilities.
There are currently 32 disease-free regions across the country, including 31 at the district level and one at the provincial level.
In addition, there are 138 disease-free zones at the communal level and 1,662 disease-free establishments at the farm level. In 2019, a total of 221 facilities, production chains and livestock areas were certified for disease safety.
Importantly, the animal health departments of Viet Nam and Russia have now agreed on the form of quarantine certificates, while disease and food safety conditions have been mutually recognised by the two sides.
In the near future, Russian authorities will complete procedures to allow Vietnamese businesses to export chicken to Russia. The DAH is also coordinating with businesses to finalize the relevant export procedures.
Some businesses have reported that they can now produce one million birds per week, and will strive to have the first batch of chicken exported to Russia in a shortest period of time, in the direction spirit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
