Vietnamese Culture Week opens in Seoul

VNGOP – A Vietnamese Culture Week opened in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on November 12 to celebrate the 15th founding anniversary of Việt Nam-RoK diplomatic ties (December 22).

The week will include a photo exhibition on Vietnamese people and land and performances by Việt Nam Sing, Dance and Concert Theatre.

Attending the opening ceremony in Seoul, Việt Nam’s Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoàng Tuấn Anh, spoke of Việt Nam and RoK as members of East Asia that share many similarities in history and culture.

He told the ceremony the development of the two countries’ relations has had many excellent steps.

Over 50 large photos featuring people, life and traditional culture in Việt Nam as well as important events in the two countries’ relations will be shown during the week.

RoK Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Cho Toong Pyo said Vietnamese Culture Week in the RoK and the up-coming RoK Culture Week in Việt Nam will help further boost mutual understanding and benefit of the two nations’ people. He said he hoped the event would become a special Vietnamese festival in the RoK.
