VN, Argentina agree to boost legislative ties

VGP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng today has met with Argentine Senate President Julio Cesar Cobos, presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of the Hồ Chí Minh Monument in Buenos Aires, and shared his views with Argentina’s leading firms.

Reaffirming his visit’s purposes of reinforcing bilateral political ties and developing multifaceted cooperation in such fields as economy, trade and investment, PM Dũng said the great potential for cooperation has yet been fully tapped, especially in the spheres of energy, agriculture, agro-produce processing, trade of consumer goods, tourism, and sports. 

The Vietnamese leader expressed his desire that the Argentine Senate and its President will continue to encourage and create favorable legal conditions for comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

PM Dũng affirmed his support for the cooperation of the two legislative bodies in building and enforcing laws, building law-ruled states, and working on international and multilateral parliamentary forums.

Senate President Cobos stated that he will actively facilitate the traditional friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries.

On the same day, PM Dũng presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of President Hồ Chí Minh’s Monument at the Việt Nam Park in Buenos Aires.

Addressing the ceremony, the Vietnamese PM said the construction proves the strong solidarity and friendship between the two countries and peoples.

Calling for Argentine companies to Việt Nam

Meeting representatives from over 20 leading Argentine firms, PM Dũng said that the potential for bilateral business ties is very great, particularly in energy, oil and gas, high technology, infrastructure construction, cattle raising, farm product processing, agriculture, garment, textile, footwear, and electrical and electronic goods.

PM Dũng called for Argentine firms to intensify investment and business activities in Việt Nam, and pledged to create all favorable conditions for them to succeed. “Your success is also ours,” he stressed.

Tomorrow, PM Dũng and the Vietnamese Government delegation will tour Mendoza, one of the biggest states of Argentina, before concluding their visit.
