The forum attracted the attendance of managers in charge of science-technology and nuclear experts from 12 FNCA member countries, namely Australia, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand and Việt Nam.

All the delegates listened to FNCA members’ reports on peaceful use of nuclear energy  and discussed measures to share information and cooperate in addressing nuclear problems in the future.

Established in March 1990, FNCA was initiated by Japan with the aim of pushing up the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes in Asia.

FNCA member countries can share opinions and information in four main fields like radioactivity use in industry, environment and health; the use of nuclear piles for research, the strengthening of nuclear safety and improvement of nuclear infrastructure.
