VN calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Viet Nam is deeply concerned over the escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip and civilian casualties are unacceptable, said Mr Trung.

He went on to say that relevant parties must stop violence aimed at civilians and resume talks.

Viet Nam also called on the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to redouble their efforts in achieving a ceasefire agreement and settling the current humanitarian and political crisis.

Violence will continue in the absence of a peaceful and equal solution to the Palestine issue. More urgent and decisive actions are necessary to resume talks between Israel and Palestine.

Mr. Trung reaffirmed Viet Nam’s support for an independent and sovereign Palestine State which co-exists peacefully with Israel./.
