The fair features more than 470 pavilions, including 250 from Vietnamese organisations, enterprises and individuals as well as 100 from over 300 Chinese enterprises.

During the seven-day event, a string of sidelines activities will include a street festival, a trade and tourism promotion workshop and a singing programme on the border river. A number of memoranda of understanding and contracts are expected to be signed.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee said the fair offers a chance for both sides’ businesses to promote trade and tourism activities, seek investment opportunities and introduce unique tourism products.

It promotes trade exchange through Mong Cai border gate economic zone and contributes to enhancing the friendship and neighbourliness between Viet Nam and China, he added.

Through the 2015 Viet Nam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair, the two countries, particularly the two neighbouring cities of Mong Cai and Dongxing, can promote their local potential and strengths on trade and tourism as well as introduce their investment projects, tourism services and tours.

The event offers an opportunity for enterprises of both sides to seek partners, expand their markets and enhance investment promotion and tourism development activities.
