The company conducted research into anti-A/H5N1 vaccines right after the virus had been subdivided in Vietnamese patients.

The production of anti-A/H5N1 vaccines on monkey kidney cells proved successful with the first batch of vaccines showing positive test results.

The pharmaceutical company stated that it has manufactured six types of anti-A/H5N1 vaccines, three types of anti-A/H1N1 vaccines in a laboratory and all these meet the World Health Organization standard for a flu vaccine.

The Ministry of Health has recognized VABIOTECH’s low-cost production of anti-A/H5N1 and A/H1N1 flu vaccines as one of 26 prominent achievements in the medical sector.

From now on, Việt Nam will be less dependent on imported vaccines and be more capable of quickly preventing the spread of flu pandemics in future./.
