Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that since 1991, the annual event has become one of the most large-scale and important trade promotion activities in terms of national industry and trade, providing practical opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to develop in the domestic market as well as boost their exports.
Themed “Step together in a digitized world”, the four-day event has attracted the participation of 320 enterprises from Cuba, Russia, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China and Viet Nam showcasing their products at 300 booths.
The event features an array of products and services from a wide range of sectors, including machinery, construction and building materials, IT, food and beverages, and agricultural and healthcare products.
In order to enhance efficiency for firms amid the adverse impacts of COVID-19, activities will be held both on-site and online via e-commerce platforms. An online version of the event will run until May 14 at www.online.vietnamexpo.com.vn.
The Vietnam Expo 2021 runs until April 17.
