The domestic enterprises claimed that the imports of plastic products from these three countries inflicted "significant damage" on local manufacturing.

The investigation was conducted in accordance with regulations of the World Trade Organization, the Law 05/2017/QH14 on foreign trade management.

The anti-dumping tariffs shall be between 9.05% and 23.71%, according to the Decision.

The ministry excluded a number of BOPP film products from the scope of the anti-dumping measures as Vietnamese companies have yet not been able to manufacture such products.

This is the fifth anti-dumping investigation Viet Nam has initiated this year. It has issued temporary anti-dumping duties on aluminum products originating from China and some wood-based materials originating from Thailand and Malaysia.

Earlier on March 18, 2020, the ministry issued Decision 880/QD-BTC on imposition of temporary imposition of anti-dumping measures on BOPP as domestic enterprises had been remarkably affected with serious declines in inventory, profit, capacity usage ratio, lower market shares./.
