Under the contract, Vietnam Airlines and VALC will purchase 30 Airbus craft totally, including ten Airbus 350-900 XWB for short-distance flights and 20 A321-200 for long routes. Ten A321-200 bought by VALC will be hired by Vietnam Airlines for 12 years.

“The operation of a fleet of A350-900 XWB and A321-200 will help Vietnam Airlines expand its services internationally, meeting the increasing demand for air transport,” said Mr. Phạm Ngọc Minh, General Director of Vietnam Airline.

Previously, in November 11, Vietnam Airlines and VACL had inked a purchase of ten Boeing 747.

It is expected that Airbus will hand over the first craft to Việt Nam in July 2012.
