The Committee members agreed that the situation in Viet Nam has been put under control, however, the nation needs to prepare for a long-term battle as the pandemic is still evolving complicated across the world.
Tracking those in contact with positive cases and social distancing are among the most effective measures to fight the virus, according to the Committee.
The social distancing rule, imposed by the Government since April 1, will affect people and businesses but it is necessary to be extended in order to protect public health, the Committee members agreed.
The Committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, said that Viet Nam has succeeded in producing cloth face masks high praised by foreign countries.
Local producers are only allowed to export medical supplies and equipment if domestic demand is satisfied.
The Committee tasked the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security to investigate and punish those who violate regulations related to face mask and protective gear./.
