VN offers 150,000 face masks to help Russia fight COVID-19

VGP – Viet Nam has offered 150,000 made-in-Viet Nam face masks to help Russia fight the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung, authorized by the Prime Minister, handed over the face masks to Russian Ambassador to Viet Nam Konstantin Vnukov in Ha Noi on April 13.

Addressing the hand-over ceremony, Dung said Viet Nam spoke highly of the timely and drastic measures taken by President Vladimir Putin and his Government to push back the pandemic.

He underlined the importance of strengthening international solidarity and cooperation in the current context to find out effective measures to protect public health and mitigate impacts of the pandemic on citizens in each country.

Viet Nam stands ready to coordinate and exchange experience with Russia to stem the pandemic, Dung said.

Ambassador Vnukov extended thanks to the Government and people of Viet Nam for the valuable assistance, considering it as an evidence for the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He also highly valued Vietnamese Government’s effective measures to combat the pandemic, which have gained international community’s recognition./.
