The VFA reported that the domestic pangasius basa fish industry is facing with huge difficulties not only from the imposition of anti-dumping tax of the US Department of Commerce (DoC) but also smear campaigns of CFA on mass media.

Instead of staging fair competitions to raise quality and cut costs, CFA is disseminating incorrect information of Vietnamese catfish sector.

Specifically, CFA holds that Việt Nam is raising catfish in polluted environments and urges the US Department of Agriculture to inspect all made-in-Việt Nam pangasius basa exports.

VFA General Secretary Trần Cao Mưu rejected the unhealthy trade competitions while affirming that Việt Nam has strictly ensured all international criteria of food hygiene including the safe quality food (SQF) standard of the US.

The VFA General Secretary recommended CFA stop the unhealthy competitions and unfair anti-dumping duties on Việt Nam’s exports in favor of the bilateral trade ties./.
