VN praised as exemplary model of industrial development

VGP – In his meeting with PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng this afternoon in Hà Nội, Director-General Kandeh Yumkella of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) hailed Việt Nam as a good example for industrial development.

Briefing Việt Nam’s recent socio-economic situations, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asserted that Việt Nam is developing a sustainable economy with the average GDP growth rate of 7-8% per year, increasing quality, efficiency and competitiveness.

While promoting its economic development, Việt Nam will continue its policies on social security and environment protection.

The host leader highly valued the cooperation between UNIDO and the Vietnamese Government over the past time, hoping that the two sides would join efforts in future cooperation projects.

PM Dũng also took the occasion to ask UNIDO to provide input supports for Việt Nam to develop sciences and technologies as well as build up a sustainable, environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient industry.

UNIDO chief Kandeh Yumkella expressed his admiration to the Vietnamese Government’s efforts in building a green industry.

He stressed that Việt Nam’s development is a good model for other countries to follow.
