Việt Nam has great potential for sea-borne economic development
This is a component of the Project "International cooperation on sea to 2020" approved by the PM on June 13, 2008.

At the seminar, many participants stated that international cooperation in carrying scientific surveys and researches within Việt Nam’s continental shelf and the two island groups of Hoàng Sa (Paracel) and Trường Sa (Spratly) will help to increase the exchange of sea-related experience, information and technologies among regional countries, so as to facilitate sea-borne economic development and the protection of sea sovereignty.

Stronger international cooperation in this field also surely give Việt Nam more favorable conditions for international economic integration and combating climate change and sea level rise, said experts.
