Viet Nam dispatched the first team of 63 military doctors to the African country in October last year to replace medical officers from the UK.

Since 2014, Viet Nam has deployed 100 military officers for peacekeeping missions in South Sudan and the Central African Republic on 29 occasions. Of the total figure, female officers accounted for 12%, according to the Ministry.
