VN, Russia want to share tertiary education strengths

VGP - Việt Nam plans to organize in December 2010 a conference of rectors of leading universities from Việt Nam and Russia to share the two countries’ tertiary education strengths and advantages.

Receiving Russian Ambassador Andrey Kovtun on March 1 evening in Hà Nội, Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, who is also the Minister of Education and Training, briefly introduced his working program for the upcoming visit to Russia slated for March 11-17.

The high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government, led by Deputy PM Nhân, will visit some top Russian institutions and universities well known for basic and military sciences.

The host leaders also revealed that in December, Việt Nam plans to organize in December 2010 a conference of rectors of leading universities from Việt Nam and Russia to share the two countries’ tertiary education strengths and advantages.

Ambassador Andrey Kovtun was convinced that Việt Nam and Russia will develop stronger and closer cooperation in the field of education.

He also warmly welcomed Deputy PM Nhân’s mid-March working visit to his country, which will surely open new chances for bilateral cooperation.
