VN sees 18% increase in int’l arrivals

VGP – The number of foreign arrivals in Việt Nam reached over 2.5 million in the first five months this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 18%, according to the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism.

In May alone, 480,886 foreigners visited Việt Nam, making a 37% surge against the same period last year.

In the first five months, the number of foreign arrivals for visiting relatives went up 81.4% with 442.000, and those coming for tours and convalescence purposes, up 10.2%, with 1.5 million

In the review period, around 418.000 foreigners came to Việt Nam for working, a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%.

Cambodian visitors made a surge of 75.2%, Chinese, up 49.6%, Malaysian, up 18.1%, and Japanese, up 12.8%./.
