The project is sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) through a non-refundable aid of the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The PM has assigned the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with the UNIDO to complete related documents and sign with the sponsors.

The project is aimed at realizing the Stockholm Convention and ensuring human health in the period of national industrialization and modernization.

Enjoying a fast economic growth rate, Viet Nam heads to become an industrial country by 2020. It will apply advanced technology to reduce POPs.
