National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue made the above statement while addressing a policy and law forum in Shanghai, on April 10, as part of his official visit to China.

The top Vietnamese legislator underlined the need to enhance collaboration between the two nations' legislatures, governments and localities to share experience in relevant policy and law making.

Both countries should promote economic linkages in the "win-win" spirit, especially launching a cooperation plan to connect the "Two Corridors, One Belt" framework with the "Belt and Road" Initiative and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in fields of green development, digital economy, digital transformation and digital data, he proposed.

Vuong called on Chinse enterprises to pour more investment in Viet Nam in the areas of airport and seaport infrastructure, expressways, high-speed railway, urban railways, electronic component, electric car, artificial intelligence, and high-tech agriculture.

He expected that Chinese investors will boost the transfer of technology and help Vietnamese firms raise their production capacity, and especially small-and medium-sized enterprises further penetrate into the global value chain.

He suggested the enhancement of cooperation mechanisms between governments, associations, and businesses of the two sides to utilize their strengths in the new context.

The legislator recommended China's relevant agencies facilitate bilateral cooperation and customs clearance, and accelerate market opening for Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products, and processed food.

The Vietnamese NA will build a transparent, fair and comprehensive legal framework, creating optimal conditions for foreign investors in general and Chinese businesses in particular to operate in Viet Nam, he pledged.

The event, which was set to promote investment and trade ties between Viet Nam and China, saw the attendance of Vietnamese and Chinese officials and about 400 representatives from the business communities of the two countries./.
